Israeli Woman Gives Birth to Twins at Age 51

JERUSALEM — A 51-year-old Israeli woman gave birth to twins Monday, setting what her doctor said he believed was a record, Israel Radio reported.
The woman, six years past menopause, was impregnated with donated eggs by artificial insemination, Dr. Shlomo Mashiach of the Shiba Medical Center said. The babies, born by Caesarean section, weighed 2 pounds 12 ounces each.
