SAN DIEGO : Murder Suspect Held Without Bail
A second suspect charged with murdering an elderly couple in Clairemont was ordered Monday to be held in County Jail without bail.
John Richard Rosenquist, 28, pleaded not guilty to the March 1 robbery, burglary and murders of John Oren, 84, and his wife, Kathrine Oren, 73. Their 10-year-old great-grandson hid in another bedroom while the couple were beaten to death.
Rosenquist and co-defendant, Randall Wall, 23, have a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 20. They were arrested two weeks ago in San Francisco; Wall was formally charged last week.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Mike Przytulski urged that no bail be allowed for Rosenquist because Wall is being held without bail. Wall lived briefly with the slain couple in the late 1980s, court records show, and had dated their granddaughter.
