* Progress Investment Management Co. announced that Thurman V. White has been named to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. San Francisco-based Progress is a minority-owned investment management firm specializing in corporate, public and union pension funds.
White, 40, comes to Progress from Pacific Bell, where he was director of regulatory and legislative analysis.
