‘American Me’ Report: There were problems at a few Los Angeles-area theaters showing “American Me,” a movie about gangs in the Latino community that opened Friday. Los Angeles police emptied the Sepulveda Drive-In in Van Nuys Friday night after security guards reported a gang-related shooting. Police found no evidence of gunfire, and later reopened the theater. At the Edwards Foothill Cinema in Azusa, police arrested 11 suspected gang members for fighting. Things were peaceful at the 12 theaters showing the movie on Saturday night, according to the Community Youth Gang Services, a group monitoring the film’s screenings for gang violence.
