Norwalk : School Superintendent’s Contract Extended 1 Year
Supt. Robert Aguilar has received a one-year extension of his contract to head the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District.
The extended contract, which trustees unanimously approved March 2, expires in June, 1994. Aguilar earns $96,448 a year.
“I feel that we are moving in a positive direction, and he has been there in that process,†board member Lupe Flores McClintock said. “He has provided the leadership and has the best interest of children at heart.â€
Aguilar became superintendent in May, 1990. He began his education career in 1962 as a teacher in Kern County. He also served as an assistant superintendent in Northern California.
