Biopool Acquires Maker of Blood Diagnostic Test Kits

Biopool International Inc., a Ventura company that makes blood diagnostic test kits and other blood-related products, said it acquired Medical Diagnostic Technologies Inc. in a stock swap valued at about $1.75 million. Medical Diagnostic, based in Ventura, also makes blood diagnostic test kits.

Biopool said the acquisition would broaden its product offerings, about one-third of which have received market approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
