Lasorda and His Kids, Strawberry and His Book
Tom Lasorda’s comments about ballplayers in the article of Feb. 22--”And while I love them all, deep down you can never love anyone more than you love your real children”--make it very clear he needs some education concerning the way parents of adopted children feel.
Speaking as an adoptive parent, who first delivered a biologically connected child, I feel impelled to emphasize that we can and do love our adopted children with the same intensity as those who arrive through traditional channels. And never has my adopted daughter, in any way, seemed less “real” to me or to herself.
