Share Purchase: Rainbow Technologies Inc., an Irvine maker of computer protection devices, said Monday that it has agreed to acquire the remaining shares of Protech Marketing Inc. in Charlotte, N.C.
Protech is partially owned by Microphar S.A., a French company that Rainbow has agreed to acquire for $14.5 million cash plus 286,000 shares of Rainbow restricted stock. Protech is the North American distributor of Microphar’s computer protection products. Rainbow spokeswoman Ann Jones said Rainbow will pay less than $500,000 for the Protech acquisition.
