Capistrano Valley Beats Millikan for 24th in Row

LONG BEACH — Capistrano Valley rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to a 47-45 victory over Long Beach Millikan Saturday in a Southern Section Division I-AA girls’ playoff game at Millikan.
The third-seeded Cougars won their 24th in a row and advanced to Tuesday’s semifinals against Lynwood at a site to be determined.
After falling behind, 23-16, at halftime, Capistrano Valley outscored Millikan (22-6), 18-8, in the third quarter. Katie Scott made four of four free throws in final two minutes to help seal the victory.
Angie White scored 16 points and Scott added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Capistrano Valley.
