Busy spring: Despite concerns from members of the Southern California Basketball Coaches Assn., spring leagues are on the increase in the Southland.

Rich Goldberg, administrator of the American Roundball Corp., which operates spring leagues in 13 locations, anticipates more than 2,000 players from seventh to 12th grade will participate in the 15th Future Stars Spring Basketball Development League.

“We’ll have 45 to 50 locations throughout the United States and, for the first time, we’re going into Canada and Australia,†Goldberg said.
