OXNARD, VENTURA : 3 Banks Robbed in County in 1 Day
- Share via
Three Ventura County banks were held up Wednesday in what FBI investigators believe were unrelated incidents.
In each case, a robber claimed to have a weapon, but none was observed, said Gary Auer, head of the Ventura office of the FBI.
Security Pacific Bank on North Ventura Avenue in Oxnard was robbed at 10:50 a.m. by a man in his mid-20s.
Five minutes after the first robbery, a slender man in his early 20s entered a branch of the Bank of A. Levy on Harbor Boulevard in Ventura and threatened a teller, Auer said.
Then at 2:30 p.m., a man robbed Security Pacific Bank on Arneill Road in Camarillo. Unless photos from the banks’ surveillance cameras prove otherwise, Auer said, “we believe all three are separate and distinct.”
