Furon Subsidiary Settles Union Dispute: Furon Co., a Laguna Niguel maker of rubber and plastic products, said that its CHR Industries unit in New Haven, Conn., settled a dispute with a United Rubber Workers union local by rehiring 53 workers who went on strike after contract talks failed. As part of the agreement, both sides agreed to withdraw charges they had filed with federal regulators. CHR, acquired by Furon in 1989, makes rubber products for a broad range of industries.
