Dominguez Hills Women Beat Chapman

The Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s basketball team improved its chances for a first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Assn. playoff berth with a 69-56 victory over Chapman College in Orange on Saturday night.
The Toros improved to 13-9 overall and 5-2 in the CCAA. Dominguez Hills is second in the CCAA and could secure a playoff berth as early as next weekend.
Junior center Dionne Vanlandingham led the Toros in scoring with 15 points. Julie King led Chapman (9-9, 3-4) with 15 points.
It was the Toros’ third victory over the Panthers. Dominguez Hills led, 48-33, but had to withstand a 13-0 Chapman run midway through the second half.
The Toros play host to Cal State San Bernardino at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
