GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE SOCCER ROUNDUP : Penalty Kick Gives La Quinta 2-1 Victory Over Garden Grove

Tuan Dang scored on a penalty kick with five minutes left, giving La Quinta a 2-1 victory over Garden Grove in a Garden Grove League boys’ soccer match Friday at La Quinta.
In the first half, Damon Motts took a crossing pass from Dang and scored from five feet out to give the Aztecs (9-7-1, 6-3-1) a 1-0 lead.
Sal Castaneda tied the score five minutes later.
In another league match:
Kennedy 2, Pacifica 1--Ryan Bean scored two second-half goals to rally first-place Kennedy (12-3-1, 8-1-1) at Pacifica.
Bean tied the score midway through the second half, then gave the Fighting Irish the lead with 10 minutes left.
