Northridge Guard Morris Practices but Faces Further Tests on His Heart
Cal State Northridge guard James Morris was allowed to practice with the team Thursday, albeit at less than full speed, after undergoing an echocardiogram.
Morris, who is suffering from an inflammation of the sac around the heart, remains questionable for tonight’s game at 7 against Cal State Sacramento at Matador Gymnasium. He is scheduled to undergo an electrocardiogram this morning.
Morris, who is averaging 7.6 points in 17.7 minutes a game, was sorely missed Monday when Northridge lost, 90-71, to Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Without his ballhandling skills, the Matadors committed 18 turnovers.
If Morris is unable to play, 6-foot-6 forward Keith Gibbs could spell Andre Chevalier at point guard.
