San Pedro High Baseball Festival to Feature Twins Catcher Harper
Catcher Brian Harper of the World Series champion Minnesota Twins and former major leaguers Alan Ashby and Garry Maddox are among the scheduled participants in the San Pedro High alumni baseball festival Saturday and Sunday in San Pedro.
On Saturday, there will be a series of clinics for youths and coaches from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be a baseball card show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the school’s gym.
Harper and Ashby will be featured in a youth clinic that starts at 9 a.m. Sunday. There will also be a game between two alumni teams from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a home-run derby.
