Grants for Youth Sports
The Amateur Athletic Foundation (AAF) of Los Angeles, has awarded $623,555 in grants to 23 Southern California organizations.
The foundation has provided more than $23 million in grants for youth sports since 1985 when it received a $90-million share of the $222-million surplus from the Olympic games held in Los Angeles. Here are the latest recipients: Velodromes in Carson, Encino and San Diego: $140,790 Southern California Tennis Assn.’s National Junior Tennis League: $125,000 Mt. San Antonio College Relays: $64,300 Bellflower Aquatic Club: $57,672 Mt. San Antonio College (for outdoor track remodeling): $50,000 Cal State L.A. (for outdoor track remodeling): $50,000 Downey YMCA gymnastics: $18,795 Bellflower Youth Football: $5,000 Canyon Country Little League: $5,000 Eagle Rock Little League: $5,000 Foothill Little League of Glendale: $5,000 La Verne and San Dimas Pop Warner Youth Football, Inc.: $5,000 Pacoima Youth Athletic Foundation: $5,000 Pioneer Little League of Whittier: $5,000 Police Activity League Supporters of Northridge: $5,000 Sylmar and San Fernando Little League: $5,000
