In another men’s game:

Valley 81, West L.A. 69--Sophomore forward Randy Brown, from Kennedy High, connected on 14 of 20 field-goal attempts to lead visiting Valley (13-11, 2-1) in a Western State Conference game.

Brown finished with 12 rebounds and a game-high 33 points.

WOMEN

Whittier 51, Cal Lutheran 47--Evelyn Albert had 20 points and 14 rebounds and Christine Ericson added 12 points and 16 rebounds for host Cal Lutheran (0-11, 0-4), but the Regals were unable to overcome Whittier in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.
