In the Century League:

El Modena 0, Orange 0--El Modena’s Fred Romo made 10 saves as the visiting Vanguards (7-1-1, 3-0-1) tied the Panthers, ranked second in the county.

Juan Ramirez made four saves to post his fifth shutout for Orange (11-2-4, 2-0-2).

Villa Park 2, Foothill 1--Scott Manson scored the winning goal early in the second half to lead Villa Park (10-2-2). Jeff Winkle scored on a 40-yard shot for Foothill (3-7-7, 0-2-1).

Santa Ana Valley 4, Canyon 3--Freshman Francisco Islis scored the winning goal for Santa Ana Valley (9-4, 2-2) off a pass from defender Oscar Lara with three minutes remaining.

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 0, Esperanza 0--El Dorado played most the match with only 10 players after sweeper Billy Harrell was ejected 3:40 into the match at El Dorado.

Blayne Leitner had eight saves in his 11th shutout of the season for El Dorado (10-1-7, 2-0-2). George Allison had one save for Esperanza (7-3-5, 1-1-2).

In the Garden Grove League:

Kennedy 3, Santiago 0--In about four minutes of play, a flu-stricken Robert Weber scored two goals--one in each half--for Kennedy (10-3-1, 5-1-1). Santiago is 5-2.

La Quinta 8, Bolsa Grande 0--Tuan Dang scored six times, giving him 14 goals in the past five games and 20 overall, for La Quinta (8-6-1, 5-1-1), which had 33 shots on goal. Bolsa Grande fell to 0-7 in league play.

Los Amigos 2, Rancho Alamitos 0--Gabriel Aceves scored on an assist from his brother Frank midway through the second half for Los Amigos (5-5-1, 4-2-1).

In the Sea View League:

Newport Harbor 3, University 2--Jim Hicks scored two of his three goals in the second half, leading the visiting Sailors (6-4-2, 3-0) to the come-from-behind victory. Andy Fuller scored twice in the first half for University (4-7, 1-2).

In the South Coast League:

San Clemente 2, El Toro 0--Carlos Rosas scored on an assist by his brother Miklos with six minutes left in the match for San Clemente (6-8-1, 1-3). Brett Hall scored four minutes into the second half on an assist by Carlos Rosas.

In the Orange League:

Valencia 11, Savanna 0--Mario Torres scored three goals, including one 30 seconds into the match, for Valencia (5-8-1, 2-0-1). Fullback Ricky Penaloza scored two goals on breakaways midway through the second half.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Trabuco Hills 1, Estancia 0--Brian Twigger scored on a 30-yard direct kick with 17 minutes to play for the host Mustangs (9-6-1, 4-0), who won their fifth consecutive match.

Laguna Hills 4, Costa Mesa 1--Jamie Miller scored three consecutive goals in the second half for Laguna Hills (10-7-1, 3-1).
