PEACE RIBBON: In a 2-foot-by-3-foot bronze plaque, Newport Beach sculptor Jon Tyree, above, has tried to capture Desert Storm: the yellow ribbon, the burning Kuwaiti oil wells, the somber face of Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, and men and women of different races who fought in it. The plaque will be unveiled Thursday in Desert Storm ceremonies at the War Memorial near the county’s Hall of Administration in Santa Ana. . . . Tyree, commissioned to create the plaque, says it’s “mostly about the sincerity of those who believed in it.”
