President Bush wrapped up his recent excursion to Asia with words of optimism: The mission to push U.S. trade and economic interests was a “success,†he insisted. But critics at home and abroad--including some of the world’s editorial cartoonists--begged to differ. Many used the President’s collapse from stomach flu at a state dinner in Tokyo to illustrate their views of America’s ailing trade ties.
