Placido Domingo to Conduct Chamber Orchestra
Super-tenor Placido Domingo will conduct an orchestral concert for the first time in the United States when he leads the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra in Mozart’s “Nozze di Figaro†Overture and Symphony No. 35, Haydn’s Sinfonia Concertante, Opus 84 and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings on Jan. 30 and Feb. 2 at Ambassador Auditorium.
Domingo has conducted opera in this country before, including “Macbeth†and “Tosca†for Los Angeles Music Center Opera.
