Dershowitz on Pat Buchanan
I heartily concur with Dershowitz’s on-target assessment of columnist Buchanan. Buchanan’s writing helps to perpetuate a number of intolerable social evils, such as anti-Semitism, misogyny, homophobia and racism. According to Buchanan, these unfortunate attitudes qualify as traditional American values.
Buchanan has become the beloved literary all-star of the far-right/fundamentalist movement. Many feel, as I do, that said movement bears a very unsettling resemblance to fascism in pre-World War II Germany.
If Buchanan is serious about running for President, he should leave the beleaguered Republican Party alone and form a separate group to support his campaign. Such a splinter party would, of course, have to bear this name: National Socialist Democrats!
