Faith Baptist Wins 8-Man Title

Senior halfback Alex Estrada scored six touchdowns Saturday to lead host Faith Baptist High to a 52-24 victory over Hesperia Christian in the Southern Section Eight-Man Large Division football final.
Estrada scored on runs of one and 22 yards, pass receptions of 26 and 36 yards, a 72-yard punt return and a 61-yard interception return. Four of Estrada’s touchdowns came in the first half as the Contenders (10-0) built a 40-0 lead, scoring on all five first-half possessions.
Estrada ran for 76 yards in 10 carries and caught four passes for 82 yards.
The Patriots (8-4), who lost to Faith Baptist, 46-0, in the teams’ opener, managed only 30 yards and two first downs in the first half, crossing midfield only once.
Fullback James DeCarriere added 126 yards and a touchdown in 19 carries and quarterback Judd Granzow completed nine of 19 passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns for the Contenders.
