The Huntington Center mall will launch a series of special holiday events today.

The All-American Boys Chorus will perform at noon and 2 p.m., followed by the arrival of Santa Claus. All children who attend the event will receive a free elf handbook and elf membership card.

“They will become official elves by virtue of the elf card,†said mall spokeswoman Pat Rogers.

Tae kwon do demonstrations and exhibitions by members of the Orange County Performing Arts Center Nutcracker Ballet cast will also be featured between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

On Saturday, the boys chorus will perform at 3 and 7 p.m., when the annual tree-lighting ceremony will take place. Representatives from the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots programs and other charities will be present for the ceremony.

Next weekend, a breakfast with Santa will be offered from 8 to 10 a.m. on Dec. 7.

“The theme this year is elves, and children will be given special instruction on how to be an elf,†Rogers said.

Tickets are $5 for breakfast and entertainment, or $9 for the breakfast, entertainment, a photo with Santa and a ride on the candyland train.

Huntington Center mall will also hold two large fashion shows on Dec. 7 and 8. At 1 p.m., Seventeen Magazine will hold a show featuring casual to formal wear for teens, with giveaways and prizes included. At 3 p.m., the mall will hold a holiday fashion and gift idea show geared toward the family.

The mall will feature holiday programs with dancing and concerts throughout the Christmas season. For specific event information, call (714) 897-2533.
