SANTA ANA : Computerized Gift Registry Offered
In an effort to make shopping for holiday gifts as easy as shopping for wedding presents, the MainPlace mall has established a computerized gift registry for the Christmas season.
As in a traditional wedding gift registry, shoppers can drop off “wish lists,†which are then made available for friends and family to peruse.
Under the week-old program, anyone can fill out a form detailing what presents he or she would like, including the size and color for clothing, books, music or other gifts, and where the items can be found, mall spokeswoman Judy Bijlani said. The information is then made available to shoppers the following day.
Bijlani said the system will make holiday shopping more convenient and essentially foolproof.
The holiday gift registry, located at the concierge desk, is the first of its kind in the county, she said. There is a $1 fee to call up a person’s list.
Also at the mall throughout the season, carolers and dancing groups will perform, starting with the All-American Boys Chorus on Sunday. The group will sing traditional holiday carols at 12:30 and 2 p.m. Additionally, a fashion show will be held Dec. 7 at 1 and 3 p.m.
