Opera Woes Continue: The Washington Opera’s contract dispute with orchestra musicians goes on. The opera had to open its season Nov. 9 with only two grand pianos and a synthesizer in the orchestra pit because of the strife and now has canceled three of its five remaining productions at the Kennedy Center this season. Contract negotiations with the musicians’ union have been stalled since the contract expired Aug. 31.
