CITY SECTION ROUNDUP : Raphael Logs Five Scores as Kennedy Romps, 42-7

Elijah Raphael scored five touchdowns in the first half to lead Kennedy High to the West Valley League title as the Golden Cougars posted their seventh consecutive win, a 42-7 thrashing of visiting Cleveland on Friday night.
Raphael, a workhorse senior running back, rushed for 199 yards in just 10 carries and scored on runs of one, 75, 46 and 20 yards. He also returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown for Kennedy (9-1, 7-0 in league play).
He needed 217 yards to break the single-season school record of Ontiwaun Carter but did not play in the second half as Kennedy Coach Bob Francola played reserves for the remainder of the rout. Raphael finished the regular season with 1,545 rushing yards in 227 carries.
Cleveland (1-8, 1-6) scored its lone touchdown on a 30-yard run by Diondre Bell.
