Fifth Mysterious Death of Animal Baffles Dallas Zoo
Associated Press
DALLAS — A kangaroo was found dead Friday at the Dallas Zoo, the fifth mysterious animal death there this week, leaving baffled veterinarians and curators to seek a possible common cause.
An African elephant died suddenly Tuesday from pulmonary edema--fluid in the lungs. Two monkeys died Wednesday, and a red panda died Thursday.
In the first four deaths, the animals suffered from myocardium, an enlarged heart muscle, the zoo curator said. The monkeys and panda also suffered from pulmonary edema.
