Volleyball Playoffs to Mix Old and New
Ventura High will make its first appearance in the Southern Section girls’ volleyball playoffs and former Southern Section champions Royal and Nordhoff embark on new quests for titles when the postseason tournament begins with first-round play tonight.
Ventura (12-2 overall), which finished second in the Channel League, will play host to Mater Dei in a 5-A Division match Thursday at 7 p.m. Marmonte League champion Royal (17-3) will entertain Newport Harbor in another 5-A match Thursday at 7 p.m. In a 2-A match, Nordhoff (12-1), the Frontier League champion, will play host to Oak Park on Thursday.
