COUNTYWIDE : Fullerton Annexes Site; Condos Planned

The Orange County Local Agency Formation Commission has approved the annexation of 4.4 acres of unincorporated territory to Fullerton, paving the way for a 94-unit condominium project.
Commissioners voted unanimously last week to annex the land on the west side of the city, where the Stratham Group plans to build on the northwest corner of Whitaker and Edward avenues.
On Tuesday, the City Council approved Stratham’s plans to rezone the construction site to allow for more units. Company representatives said they proposed the incorporation to Fullerton to get better municipal services.
Buena Park officials opposed the annexation and asked for a delay in the decision on the grounds that the housing project was too dense and near an industrial area in their city.
