Image Entertainment Cuts Quarter’s Loss to $199,109

Image Entertainment Inc., a Chatsworth-based distributor of video laser discs, said it narrowed its loss in its fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 to $199,109, while revenues rose 35% to $12.8 million. A year earlier, Image lost $624,577 on $9.52 million in revenue.
The company said it had a smaller loss in the most recent quarter because of stronger video releases and cost controls.
In the latest six-month period, however, Image’s total loss widened to $681,748 from $512,717 a year before. Revenues increased 14% to $22.5 million from $19.7 million.
