Merc to Trade Oil Futures Round the Clock: The New York Mercantile Exchange, the world’s largest oil market, announced that it will trade petroleum futures contracts 24 hours a day, beginning late next year. The plan drew mixed reviews from traders. Some believe that round-the-clock dealings will allow market participants to better respond to world events.
