PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Newberry Doubtful for Saint Game

Starting left guard Tom Newberry sprained his right ankle in practice and is doubtful for the Rams’ game against the New Orleans Saints Sunday at Anaheim. Bern Brostek, who has been out of the lineup since spraining his right ankle in Week 5, will replace Newberry, if necessary. . . . Flipper Anderson practiced for the first time in pads since his back injury Sept. 22, but Coach John Robinson said the wide receiver probably wouldn’t play Sunday. . . . Robinson said tailback Cleveland Gary, who sprained his right knee in the Rams’ 31-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday, is questionable for the Saint game. . . . As of Wednesday, the Rams were on the verge of a sellout and lifting of the TV blackout. Only about 900 tickets remained.
