Crescenta Valley : Water Board Elections
Customers of the Crescenta Valley County Water District will select two of five candidates Tuesday to serve on the district’s five-member board of directors.
Two incumbents seeking to retain their seats have a combined tenure of more than 50 years on the board. William T. O’Neil has been on the board since 1956 and James N. McClain since 1973.
They are being challenged by Dominick Petrotta, a retired mechanic; Arthur Ted Schunck, a retired investigator for Los Angeles County, and Judy Binch Tejeda, a businesswoman and educator.
The water district serves about 8,000 customers in unincorporated La Crescenta, and in portions of Glendale and La Canada Flintridge, said district spokesman David Brooks.
Those elected on Tuesday will serve four-year terms on the board, which sets water rates and rationing policy and oversees all district operations, Brooks said.
