Lawrence P. Murphy has been named executive vice president for strategic planning and development at Walt Disney Co.
Murphy, 39, will be in charge of identifying growth and expansion opportunities for Burbank-based Disney, especially in marketing. He will report to Chairman Michael D. Eisner and President Frank Wells.
Murphy was involved in the development and expansion of Walt Disney World and Euro Disney. He joined the company in 1985, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School.
