THOUSAND OAKS : Man Flashes Gun, Robs World Savings
A man robbed World Savings & Loan on Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks of an undetermined amount of cash Thursday after flashing a gun at the assistant manager, authorities said.
The man, described as white, 45 years old and 6 feet tall with a large build and brown hair, approached the bank’s assistant manager, Carole Acklin, of Ventura, at 12:35 p.m., Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
Showing her the gun’s handle from inside a zippered bag, the man demanded that Acklin give him “all the large bills she had,” deputies said.
Acklin complied, and the man fled into the neighboring Janss Mall. No one was injured. Bank officials had no comment on the incident.
