OXNARD : Fire Started by Child Destroys Garage
- Share via
A fire started by a child playing with matches destroyed a five-car garage in Oxnard on Thursday, fire officials said.
The wooden garage, at 410 S. D St., was valued at $20,000, and its contents at another $10,000, Fire Capt. Robert Miller said.
Someone had been using part of the garage as a residence, and the rest was used for storage, he said.
No one was injured in the blaze, which caused the release of unidentified hazardous gases, officials said.
