Glassell Park : Shooting Death at Baptism
A fistfight during a weekend baptismal celebration led to the shooting death of a 24-year-old man, Los Angeles police said.
The fight erupted during a party Saturday at a house in the 2200 block of West Avenue 30 after one man stepped on another’s foot while they were dancing, Detective Gene Randolph said. The man who was beaten more severely left the party and returned with several friends, including Narciso Luviano of Glassell Park, the detective said.
When Luviano pointed a shotgun at party-goers outside the house, someone shot him once in the head with a handgun, Randolph said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police obtained a description of the gunman, but no arrests have been made.
