Orion Stock Skids: After posting a 44% gain a day earlier, Orion Pictures Corp. stock tumbled 39% on Wednesday amid reports that the debt-ridden movie company expects substantial second-quarter losses. The stock closed at $2.75 a share, a $1.75 decline, in heavy New York Stock Exchange trading of 688,000 shares. Analysts said the free fall was expected, given Orion’s second-quarter earnings predictions and a critical assessment of its accounting practices in Wednesday’s Wall Street Journal.
