Memorial Service Set for Actor Regis Toomey

A memorial service for veteran actor Regis Toomey is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mel’s Catholic Church, 20870 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills.
Toomey, 93, who appeared in more than 200 films and made Hollywood history in 1940 with the longest on-screen kiss, died Saturday at the Motion Picture and Television Hospital in Woodland Hills.
He is survived by one brother, Ord, three nephews and two nieces, a family spokeswoman said, correcting earlier reports.
