New Storm Menaces Cuba, Bahama Islands

MIAMI — The sixth tropical storm of the Atlantic hurricane season took shape just before noon Tuesday south of Cuba, forecasters said. It is named Fabian.
Tropical storm warnings went out for Cuba, from Havana east to Ciego de Avila and the Isle of Youth. The Bahamian government issued a tropical storm watch for the northwest and central Bahamas, from Great Inaugua northwestward.
