H. Robert Heller, president of San Francisco-based Visa U.S.A. Inc., was elevated to chief executive of the company, succeeding Charles T. Russell, who continues as president and chief executive of Visa International.
Heller, 51, a former governor of the Federal Reserve Board, joined Visa, the world’s largest consumer card payment program, in 1989 as executive vice president of Visa International. He was elected president of Visa U.S.A. in February of this year.
Russell had served as chief executive of Visa U.S.A. since 1984.
