Nordhoff 21, Bishop Diego 0--Steve Saum passed for two touchdowns and ran for another and running back Nacho Vega rushed for 163 yards in 26 carries to guide the Rangers at San Marcos High.

Saum passed for only 42 yards with four completions in 11 attempts. But he hit Adam Blundell on a 15-yard slant for a first-quarter score and combined with Mike York on a nine-yard screen play for a third-quarter touchdown. Nordhoff (3-2) received a stalwart defensive effort, recovering three fumbles and intercepting three passes.
