Region : S. African Group Concert

The South African singing group Ladysmith Black Mombazo will perform at Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium at 8 p.m. Friday and at Bridges Auditorium in Claremont at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The group was formed in 1960 in the township of Ladysmith, South Africa, but was virtually unknown outside Africa until being featured on Paul Simon’s “Graceland� album.

Tickets for Caltech performance are $30, $27.50 and $25, with $2 off for youths 18 and under. Student and senior rush tickets will be available at $7.50 half an hour before the performance. Bridges Auditorium tickets are priced at $29, $25 $22, and $18. Tickets for both are available at the box offices and Ticketmaster outlets.
