MOORPARK : Power Failure Hits 1,350 Customers
Moorpark College canceled some evening classes Tuesday due to a 4:15 p.m. power failure that affected 1,350 Southern California Edison customers, the power company said.
Power was back on by 7:06 p.m. for the majority of those customers, including the college. However, 135 customers were still without electricity at 8:45 p.m., said Christine Bradley, area manager for Edison in Simi Valley and Moorpark.
The utility had not determined a cause for the power failure Tuesday night, Bradley said. She added that customers had lost power in the downtown area, including City Hall.
Gerry Olsen, public relations officer for the college, said 7 p.m. classes proceeded as scheduled.
