One person was killed and five others were hospitalized after leaking natural gas caused an explosion Saturday at a 300-unit condominium complex, authorities said. The explosion, which leveled eight units, forced the evacuation of the complex for at least six hours while police, fire and Red Cross officials administered aid and searched for the source of the leak, said dispatcher Gary Robertson of the Riverside County Fire Department. The victim, who is believed to have been a resident of the complex, was not identified, Robertson said. The condition of the injured people was unknown.
