More Officials Ordered Out

President Mikhail S. Gorbachev fired two more officials Thursday after last month’s failed coup. Dismissed were: * Boris Gromov, a lieutenant general, was removed as Interior Ministry deputy and given another, unnamed job. Gromov had been named deputy to Interior Minister Boris K. Pugo during a period when Gorbachev seemed to be retreating from liberal reforms. He was commander of Soviet forces in Afghanistan and supervised their withdrawal in 1989. Pugo committed suicide last month.
* Lt. Gen. Iokubas Petrovas was removed as deputy KGB chairman. His boss, Vladimir A. Kryuchkov, was among the coup plotters and is under arrest on treason charges.
