Former Syracuse football player Michael Owens was arrested and charged with raping an 18-year-old woman, Syracuse authorities said. Owens pleaded innocent and was released on $10,000 bail after being arraigned on a first-degree rape charge in city court.
The 23-year-old Owens, of Carlisle, Pa., is the older brother of former Syracuse basketball player Billy Owens, the No. 3 pick in the NBA draft this summer by the Sacramento Kings.
