Connie Lara, assistant city clerk in Azusa for the past 15 years, bade a tearful goodby to the City Council and staff Monday as she announced her retirement.
The council presented Lara, 55, with a resolution commending her for her “outstanding service” to the city. Lara has worked for the city for 26 years. “Assertively proficient but never domineering, diligent but never obdurate, she endeared herself to everyone,” the resolution read.
Lara’s last day will be Aug. 30. A replacement for her position has not yet been chosen.
